Default our trip across the border, ontario slabs

    hey all,
just found my way to crappie.com.
    first post.
I've been looking for a place to find people who like to share tips and bounce theories off for my crappie chasing ventures.
I'm not the guy to chase the crowd.
I like to seek and destroy, especially in areas that have not previously been know to the general public.

anyway, a few friends and I take a trip to ontario north of fort frances each spring, three years running now to chase big slab crappies.
know this, in MN a 15 inch crappie is HUGE and anything bigger is what the hunt is all about.
I would love to make it down south where you fellas catch three pound slabs regularily.

my goal had been a 16 inch black crappie(never fished nor caught a white crappie) and this past week, my youngest son caught that 16 incher on his first trip out of the country.
I will share some pictures. this one is me with a couple nice fish.

this is my youngest son Andrew with his first ontario slab

my friend Joe with two of three back to back slabs that he is having done in a nice mount for his office wall.

my friend Goose with a couple nice eaters

the big guy enjoying a nice day on the ice, hauling up crappies

Andrew's hog 16 inch before it was packed away in snow to prevent damage during the portages.

I hope the pics work and I would be happy to answer any questions regarding our trip or anything else crappie for that matter. I have plenty of questions myself to ask.

    have a great day!

Great pics and welcome to the site. The fish your son caught was a dandy, WTG!!!
