3 lakes, 3 days.
Having had a wonderful time with Camryn these past couple of days, all good things must end. 4am we woke and they loaded to go home. Saying goodbye is always tough. Noe that I was awake and wound up I made use of it and headed to Normandy for the morning shift. Checked the mail in my familiar old haunts was a good feeling. As is normal the bite was slow starting and the wind and temps(32) were both low so I just settled in and enjoyed a wonderful painted cloud sunrise. 1st fish was a good 11 1/2" and a good start to the day. A few fish showed up and didn't make the cut and I realized it was just a slow day and better than sittin home wishin. About 8:30 I got a hit and when setting the hook the rod stopped, always a good feeling. Put down the other rod and slowly lifted a good solid 14" blacknose to the net. 1.7lbs on the scale it was the biggest of the year for me, as we all know that Woods just isn't producing them like that lately, at least for me. Got a call to meet the wife and show our rental yet again so my 2 went to a real nice guy fishing nearby. This was just in time for second shift to arrive. Steve went easing by waving hello and David O'Dell was at the ramp getting ready to go. Good to see you folks and all my new and old friends that frequent Normandy, haven't spent much time there this year. That was all 3 of our local lakes in 3 days, and now it's back to the grind tomorrow and get all the miles I can before the Santa break. I missed my little girl today, just wasn't the same. Hope everyone is finding some fish...Skeet.
