MTCC Mar 23rd Tourney Results

MTCC held it's March tourney yesterday in rain threatening conditions, but the rains came either before and after the tourney allowing for a dry day out on the water. The winds were also very tolerable all day long or non existent even at times. The day stayed cloudy and the temperature rose into the middle 50's by late afternoon.
We had 11 boats to fish this tourney. It was not one of those days that bigger keeper fish were really biting well at, however there were still 6 boats that found tourney limits. We had 7 boats to bring fish to the weigh in. Water temps at the lake were averaging in the low to mid 50s. Results are below.

Taking third place with 7 keepers was John Wells who fished by himself this day. Taking second place with 7 keepers was 2 of our newest members, Roger Mayfield Sr. and Jr. This was their first tourney with MTCC. Congrats guys and again, welcome to MTCC. Taking first place and also the big fish pot of the day was Dave Odell and Toby Ivey. They had 7 fish weighing in at 6.18 pounds and the tourney Big Fish weighing in at 1.41 pounds.

Congrats to all the winners and MTCC wants to thank everybody who came out to support the tourney and the weigh in as well. Its always good to see folks that are interested in crappie fishing. Next month we have to go back for another round there at Woods Reservoir again, but I am certain that water conditions will change quite a bit and dictate some changes for us all. Interested in crappie fishing, come on out and be a part of us. We focus on keeping it family friendly and fun for everybody.

Well that was a very good Report!! Thanks to all the guys who were in the tournment!I am sure the results will be lots better as the fish are in a transit mode now and will be spawning in the next few days.

Thanks Toby for putting us on fish. We sure did catch a bunch but the keepers were hard to come by. Caught some very nice white bass to. My friend that got the fish was very appreciative to get them. Found him fishing at the damn in Shelbyville with no luck there. Said he was going to go home and tell his wife he caught them all.
I hadn't been to Woods since 1993 so it would have been tuff to find fish without help. Lucky for me Toby asked me to fish with him. And lucky for us we caught just enough to win. Another couple of trips there and I will have a better understanding of a lake that is not like the other 2 we fish. Looking fowrard to the next one at Woods. I wont have Toby to help next time. The fish should be in a different pattern by then so that will change things up.

congrats to all who placed.fish were hard to come by for blake & i,we struggled finding fish on saturday.it was good to see a good turn out for the tournament.next tournament also at woods in april,maybe we can find them then.
