I recommend the St.Croix Premire series. I use the 8 1/2 ft. model and it's hard to beat. Cost is a little over $100, but you get what you pay for.
i thinking about buying a good jig rod sensitivity/casting ability in that order. I'm looking at bnms bucks ultimate 8f, bucks camouflage brush cutter 10f or wally Marshall pro series 10f.any one using one of these. or any recommendations
.

St.Croix is a great jigging rod. It's light and very sensitive. I really don't care for mine for casting as much though. Just stick with it when I'm vertical jigging or slow trolling. I got a couple Wally Marshall rods I like for casting.Hey Grayryder? You still deer hunting tomorrow? Good luck if you are..................Rod selection may be a good topic to discuss in a meeting soon.
St Croix 6' light action premiere for casting. Very hard to beat. I do not like the 8'6" for casting except for deep float fishing.
Secretary of Da Fish!
Never tried casting with my 8 1/2' rods, got em for jiggin and pitchin.
thanks for the tips on rods .doubt I can make it in the morning. I may have to do something with daughter . but maybe ? I haven't got my winter stuff out of the storage. guess now is a good time.
I have 2 BnM 8' Graphite jig poles with spinning reels that I just got and like real well. Grizzly jig co. has them on sale for $20 ea and they ship to your door. Much lighter than my 10's and real sensitive. The 2 wally marshall 9' that I have are stiffer and not nearly as light, I think they're #35 at BPS on sale right now, might have been last week. Most of my gear does double duty as a spider rod, so far-so good. I think the stiffer wally rods will do well at pushing jigs and crankbaits too but haven't got that far yet.
Boss didn't get me home like he said, so I'll see y'all at the weigh in.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
ocean surf 8.5 flippin stix is nice , a bit on the stiff side but i use mine for everything from crappie to cat's . cost is about 140.00
