I saw your post about Talquin and thought I might could help a little. Order a map of Talquin and send me a PM. I will call you and give you a couple of spots that we fished. I was down there a few years ago about the time you are going and we had the one of the best fishing trips that I have ever been on. It was our first and last trip. We were going back the next year and the water was high and muddy. We decided on a different Fla Lake. It is a great lake. Most folks were long line trolling but we did well spiderrigging a channel drop. I hope you have a good trip. PM me if you are interested in the spots.

Hey Dave, I made a trip to Talquin about 8 years ago around Feb. 14th. We stayed for around 5 days. It took a couple of days to find the fish but when we did we really got into some big ones! Most all the natives were either spider-riggin or long linein. I fished the same way I do on woods, slow vertical jiggin. One thing that may help you out is that it is a long drive to town so bring plenty of gas cause it's expensive on the lake!

Only been there Bass fishing years ago. Plenty of nice snakes and gators then but that was March. I am sure that they will be hiding when you are there. I am not a big fan of those nice log reptiles. Good luck and see ya in a couple of weeks.
