Thanks for sharing. Sounds and looks like everyone had a good time. Lots of good catches and I’m sure good food.
Michigan's CDC weekend just finished up.
We had a great time together sharing stories, memories from the past, some pretty good fishing and of course food. Friday night kicked it off with our annual Liars club.
We shared some great food and a lot of stories of our fishing adventures of the past year. As a group we decided on the rules for our friendly fishing contest for Saturday. Total weight of 5 fish and also big fish was decided on. Saturday morning we all headed to the lake and everyone caught fish, but Tim (Flytier) brought in the largest bag of 6.85 lbs as well as the largest fish at 1.85 lbs.
A couple Michigan master anglers sized fish were caught on the weekend as well. Most fish were caught under a float with a minnow or jig and plastic.
We were fortunate to have BuckeyeCrappie (John) and his wife Marilyn attend camp this year. Thanks for bringing him up, Marilyn!
John made a commemorative lure for each person.
Thanks John!
We also had swag provided by Slab. A few of the new knives, hats, mugs and plenty of slab sauce to go around.
Thanks Ed!
It was definitely one to be remembered.
Next year's event will be held at the same place first weekend of May.

I had a great time! Thanks to everyone that attended with a special thanks to Mr. and Mrs Buckeyecrappie for the custom cranks (and the stories that kept the group rolling with laughter) and Slab for the Crappie.com gear. Thanks Dean (birdbander) for the CDC cake, thanks John (steelguy) for sharing info with the group, thanks Jeff (vbottom) for letting me ride along in your boat and catch my master angler, way to go Tim (flytier) for doubling up with heaviest bag and biggest fish. Thanks to the folks at Sharp Park Campground for putting up with us.
I talked to Diana from Sharp Park Sunday morning and she has us penciled in for 2025, first weekend in May for the same sites we had this past weekend. I'll provide more info around the new year so stay tuned. Jeff and I hit a lake on the way home Sunday and found lots of fish shallow and managed to catch some big fish, all released for next years contest. Figured if we pre fish now we might be able to beat Tim next year.

Other than busting a boat trailer spring on the way home and having a trailer so old I need yo have new springs actually made, I had a great time.
Looking forward to next year's camp and trying more new places.

Bummer on the trailer. But, older trailers are usually built beefier and better then the newer ones. I'm sure its got a few miles on it. Way cheaper to have them made them buy something else. Sorry you had that issue, but sure glad you came this weekend!
