    Default Erie fishing with brother and Wilbur


    My brother has been bugging me to go to Erie for walleye AND perch, so we headed down Tuesday for a two day trip
    Stayed near Huron at the plantation motel mostly because they are cheap and have a fish cleaning station, the owner can be a bit of a jerk at times but was good for this trip
    We launched from vermilion and headed for 50 ft of water were the bite was good a couple weeks ago…..was DEAD!! Searched for over two hours before we found fish in 40 closer to shore
    Crawlers 70 ft back with 2 oz inline did the trick
    Went back to the same place Wednesday and had a limit in just over an hour then loaded up and headed back to bolles harbor in Michigan for perch
    After getting minnows we headed straight out to the pack and just started graphing until we found a small school
    Got 60 by 5 pm and called it a day
    Was great to fish with my brother and now he wants to go again as soon as I let him back in the boat
    Had one mishap with the walleye… one fish flop and had a treble buried to the curve in my finger
    Should have took a picture but I was so mad about it I just grabbed the bend and ripped it out before I had time to think about it ?
    All in all we had a blast

    Great trip John. Fishing with your brother had to be great. Catching was a bonus. I remove hooks the same way. Just rip them out before thinking. Works good for those of us who aren't thinkers. lol. Hay Wilbur.
