    Default Off the grid, kinda....

Been off the grid for a week, kinda. Returned to Missanabie Ontario for the first time since Covid. Our group had gone to this particular lake yearly for over 25 yrs. With technology today we were not truly off the grid like back in the day, as now we can check in with loved ones thru the internet but close enough. We had 9 adults, two kids and for the first time had three generations of a family fishing. Although not crappie we boated plenty of walleye daily fishing with a Lindy rig, drop shot or slip float. Most were caught with leeches and the rest on crawlers when we ran out of leeches. We fished rock humps in 7-15 ft of water that had 30 plus feet of water nearby. The group had fresh walleye every night. We had wonderful weather, great fishing, great scenery, great food and great company

That's a beautiful lake, I had the privilege to fish it 40 years ago. I have a friend who is part owner of one of the few cabins on it.

I still have memories of dad and friends and us that went to Canada almost every year fishing, i just took it for granted that everyone did that, suppose I made a lot of my class mates jealous when school went back.
