Default Work or play on a really nice day?

Sparty and I decided a little work then a lot of play was the answer for the day. After moving some material to
Sparty's next job site, we decided it was too nice a day to pass up. We hooked up the boat and headed for a lake we only fished once before in Prairieville Twp. The goal was to try and learn more about it. We decided on the way that we were not keeping, just catching and releasing for the day. We long lined and found that if I could keep on the weed line on the first drop we would catch fish.

There were times we had triples and doubles going when I could keep the boat on the right line of weeds. If I was landing fish or de-weeding lines I would loose the edge very easy. The weed line was not any where near a straight line 95%. We didn't keep count on fish caught, but the largest Jerry caught tickled 14"

with a respectable number of 13's and 12's.

I am confident we could have kept a really nice box, but was kinda fun releasing them to get larger.

For me it was an easy decision. 75*, mostly sunny with light winds. Hitting a newer lake with the chance to land a true slab crappie. No brainer. We learned quite a lot about the lake that will help us on future trips. Most of the fish we caught would ordinarily have gone in the box but like Jeff said, it was fun releasing quality fish for future trips. Danny, I don't think you'll ever live down the blue trash can thing, good thing you have a sense of humor.
