Beautiful fish. Congrats on an awesome day
Every once in a while in the fishing world everything lines up perfectly and you experience success beyond belief. Today was one of those days. First off, the weather was amazing, high 70's, light wind and not a cloud in the sky. Secondly, the water temp is creeping up on 60* and the crappie are just entering spawning mode. The fish have moved out of the weeds and into the shallower spawning areas and were more than willing to bite. Shortly after we started Jeff set the hook on a fish and his first thought was "bass". Wrong! instead it was a big crappie that measured 15 1/2", a big crappie for Michigan. It wasn't much longer and he boated a 14 1/4". Both qualify for master angler. I got in the mix next with a 15 3/8". In between we were catching 10"-13" fish. When the bite slowed we bounced around, trying a few new spots and ended up on a 5' flat that was loaded with spawning fish. We picked away at them until we had all we wanted to clean in the live well then played catch and release for a while. After some more exploring we decided to stop at our original spot, catch a few and then call it a day. Wouldn't you know it, Jeff's luck was still working and he landed another master angler fish. This one also measured 14 1/4". That put the cherry on an unbelievable day, we kept 43 fish with most being 11-13" and 4 master angler fish. We probably threw back as many as we kept. Here are some pictures of our day.

Speaking of teaching, I happened to nail my last slab in sight of a young fellow on a dock fishing. He was with grandma and grandpa with a worm and bobber not catching much but trying pretty hard for his age. As we wrapped up for the day, Jerry had me swing up to the dock and he gave the kid some jigs and plastics like we were using and showed him how to rig them. Great idea Jerry!!! Hope he caught a hog with them.
