Took another trip down to Barry County Saturday with vbottom to fish our "size" lake, the one we hit when #'s don't matter because the lake holds some big fish. Quality over quantity. TV 6 was saying no rain until 5 pm so we went for it. The first stop was a shallow bay with decent weed growth that we got a few in last week and they were still there. After a couple of hours we had 17 in the box with most between 11" and 13". They hit plastics with chartreuse in them best. We decided to leave them biting and went exploring looking to learn more about the lake. We checked numerous spots that looked promising on the lake map but we couldn't find weeds. We ended up in a back bay that we had good luck in last week and managed to put a few in the box with a lot of throw backs. And they wouldn't touch bright colors, they wanted dark back, light bully plastics. Jeff was watching his weather app and the storm was bearing down on us so we decided to hit our first stop again and then leave. We were rewarded with 3 more good fish to bring our total to 25. While we were getting the boat on the trailer it started to sprinkle and by the time we were on the road it was pouring, we cut it that close. Here's a few pictures of our catch and also the worms (bloodworms???) I found in their stomacs when I cleaned them.
