Congrats on some monster flatheads
Took a trip with vbottom and his Uncle Billy to Bay City to walleye fish the Saginaw River. I would like to report that we slayed them but that would be fake news. We did manage to catch maybe 15 or 20 but none made the minimum size. We started in Bay City and worked our way upstream, stopping and fishing all the regular spots but couldn't find any decent fish. When this happens our fall back plan is to catch giant flatheads and that's exactly what we did. We motored to our "hot spot", an area behind a bridge piling that's >< 18' deep and loaded with old wood pilings making wrestling a big cat to the surface quite a feat. My first two hook ups busted my 10lb fireline before I could get the fish off the bottom. Jeff landed the first fish, a 40" beast. I scored next with a 37" and Billy landed a couple of smaller fish along with a 40"er. I stuck a 32" followed by a 40" and Jeff finished up the day with a huge 42". Wilbur was impressed to say the least. All together we landed 6 master angler sized flatheads and all were released to fight another day. Here's a few pictures.

Nice… those monsters would eat Wilbur!
Now you ready to come down and tangle with some red fish. While I enjoyed the pics, I am not jealous. With my 2 bad wrist's I hope to never hook a big fish again.
