It was all about the eyes
Walleyes that is. Sparty and I spent the day with friends on the Detriot river yesterday. Jigging ounce jigs on the bottom tipped with a plastic worm in 24-28 fow. The morning bite was on fire and too busy to stop and take pics!!! I took a few later in the day and the board of eaters we kept. Spring is so fun in Michigan...

Wowser, great job. Yep, Walleye are good eating. It's very similar to Crappie and Perch. Same white flakey meat. I rank all three of those fish in the same good eating category.

It was a great day on the mighty "D". Not often that you can put 18 walleye in the box in the first hour on the water. For anyone that has never caught a walleye, come on up and get you some. There are plenty to go around. Plus , the experience of concentrating on fishing and having a freighter sneak up behind you and blow it's horn is something you won't forget. It'll scare the @#$% out of you!
