Nice mess of fish. Congrats
I went down to my super secret Barry County crappie canal today. The dock isn't in yet so I took a small flat bottom and a set of oars. By the time I had rowed to my spot I was whipped, it was almost 50'! I dropped anchor and tossed out a jig with a Crappie Magnet and got hit instantly. That's pretty much how it was for the next 3 hours. I would have stayed longer but I had to pee and there is no privacy on a canal lined with houses. I kept a 25 fish limit of 10 1/2"-13"ers and lost count of how many I tossed back. Caught fish on Bobby Garland Baby Shad in a multitude of colors but the bigger fish hit a Crappie Magnet, the Slab Magnet profile. I have to say, those Crappie Magnet baits are tough. I caught close to 50 fish on one bait and it still looks like new.

nice mess of fish
At least the row boat was cheap on gas
I carry a big poncho and coffee can for those emergencies. Nobody gets embarrassed that way, and I can stay on the water. Good batch of fish! How do you fish those Crappie Magnet baits?
I had the Crappie Magnets on a sickle hook jig, 1/16th I think, under a bobber. I was fishing water less than 3' with weeds so was rigged about a foot down. I wanted to see how high the fish would come up and set my bait as little as 6" below the bobber and still caught fish. Usually I make the bait "swim" by lifting the rod tip. The rise and fall of the bait usually triggers a strike but that day they were a little finicky and wanted it just barely twitched. One of my rods had some nasty line twist that made the jig spin under the bobber and that worked as well.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing
