Jeff and I headed over to Sessions Lake yesterday hoping to catch a few walleye but more than willing to catch crappie. We got on the water as the sky was getting light and started long lining jigs and plastics a few minutes later. The weather was perfect with no wind and a little fog coming off the water.
The first fish we landed was a small bass that took my Cabelas paddle tail in Firecracker. A few more small bass were caught and released before Jeff hooked up with something big. That something ended up being another largemouth that was 1/4" shy of master angler measuring 21 3/4". It also had both of our plastics in it's mouth. We think I flossed it when it crossed my line during the fight.
I wish I could report that the walleye and crappie bite turned on but that was not the case. We caught a lot of bass, probably 40 or more, but only got 2 crappie, the biggest was around 10 1/2" and was released before we left the lake. We left at 10 am when it got too hot to have fun. Sorry about the up side down pic. Trying to figure out how to turn the phone to avoid sideways pictures. Guess that was the wrong way.
