You did good Arron
I was thinking about asking if anyone wanted to go, but logistics would have been an issue. I would not have felt right telling guests that *You have to go to my Mom's first before we go home.* So it was a solo day long trip for Mom.
Was not sure how to go about fishing, but ended up getting up early Sunday, drove to Lake Erie Metro Park. So I arrived at "Bottom Line" and of course they were out of minnows....
It was a day long fight with conditions, & plastics, I totally feel I could have been done in 1/2 the time given the conditions, with Minnows, but Oh well.
Got on the water, and had two Walleye the very first drift, and then picked up 3 more over the next three hours. Needing 1 more, took another 1.5 hours, but Mom gets her 6 Pack for Mothers Day.
The conditions became worse and worse, as the day wore on, thus the slow catch rate, and of course fighting the lack of experience using the Motoguide.
Conditions looked like THIS...... Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online. Had to post a link, as I could not get it to upload the video. I'm not as Youtube-easy as Steve.
Anyway got done, happy to be back on land, dry or wet, just happy to be off that type of water condition, and loaded onto trailer. Took my time, got the cover on, and headed to my Moms.
2.5 hours of driving, and I get to Vestaburg.
Park in front of house, and Moms like WTH are you doing here? Said I have your Mothers Day present. Proceeded to clean the Walleye right there on the tailgate, for Mom, and cleaned all 6.
Mom is almost 70, and had no issues with a 6 foot rule, as I guess my Sister was there the day before and treated her (Mom) like a leper. Mask, would not go into house, etc, however Mom seemed kind of sad.
So I was inside talking to Mom, and she started crying as said, she had not been out of house/yard since March 13th. She said no contact, no interaction, and Sister would not hug her. I was like WTF? and walked over and gave my Mom a HUG. I was done hugging, but she held on for a long ASH time. So i just stood there, hugging her until she was done, hugging me.
After that it was like a different Mom, she was alive, vibrant, and I showed her how to eat the Wings, and advised on cooking the cheeks.
I have been getting non stop texts about her dinners, lunch's, etc, as she cooks the Walleye, but cant stop thinking, that the real power was in a simple HUG.
Here are the Walleye, and its a 26 gallon Livewell, and the others ore up under the bait bucket.

Good job on the mothers day presents, OE. When I saw the title I thought that maybe you'd been working out, doing sit ups and such. Then I came to my senses and figured it was booze. Walleye never came to mind.
Me a sit up? the only time I sit up, is to make fun of Steph, or when a Downrigger/Diver Rod goes screaming from a king.
Yeah, New limit on the DR is 6 like Lake Erie.
I told Steph I might go, and he said to give you a call, and I just didn't fell right going, Hey, you can go, but were stopping @ My Moms afterwards....
I ended up not getting to her place until about 7, and actually got home to my place by 10:30pm. Made for along 18 hour day, LOTS of driving, and a happy Mom.
I could not help but notice going up 127, and across 43 that Tonda is slacking in her killing of deer. there were ALLOT of road kill. She needs to work on culling the herd for Auto insurance reasons.
I find it some what sad that Jigging season for Walleye is almost over. I would say another week or two, as 2 of the females I caught were still full with eggs that were not ready to spawn just yet. But a week or two, and it will be mostly over, is my guess.

They'll still be there but the white bass will make it hard to catch them. I would like to make a trip just for the white bass this year, feel like fighting fish till my arms hurt. Plus they eat good. Ask Steve.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing

Very nice thing you did for your mom.
WTH is wrong with your sister?
I’m glad you gave your mom a hug, that means the world to our parents, my dad won’t do hugs but handshakes are just as good in his book.
Sparty is right, them WB taste pretty good when cleaned good, I’ve been wanting to take a grandkid after them, they’d love it!

Redge,
The boat was in better spirits than I was at that time.
Boat handled it well, no issues, but I sure as *Edit by G* didn’t like it at all.
Of course I was lied to by the weather man as well. He is 1/3 for proper conditions this year so far.
