Jeff and I hit the Grand River today hoping to find a salmon or two. We launched above Weber Dam and motored upstream to the Portland Dam. With Jeff's boat we are able to get right up to the dam. We did see a few salmon trying to jump the dam but got none to hit our spinners.

The good thing about fishing below the dam, there are plenty of other species of fish there. We rigged up with a jig and baby shad under a set bobber and were able to land 5 different species, largemouth, smallmouth, rock bass, pike and channel catfish. The cats came on nightcrawlers.

On the way back to the launch we stopped at the David Hwy bridge and caught a few rock bass and one 9" crappie. Name: IMG_20190909_152306961_HDR.jpg
