.....of July off to go fishing. Jeff and I ran down to Barry County to try a new lake, Bristol Lake near Dowling. I've been working on the lake this summer and was amazed at the lack of boat traffic so we figured it would be the perfect place for a hloiday week end.
We were on the water by 6:30 and started long lining jigs. Jeff was using Sliders in Monkey Milk and Blue/chart. and I was using my hand ties in similar colors. Water temp was low 80's. The bite was fairly steady with plastics out producing hand ties 2-1. We caught and released around 75 crappie today. Most of the fish were smallish, 9" and under with a few over 10" and big fish 13". Slab sauce seemed to make a difference today.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing
