After the hectic start to my day things got better. We spent a lot of time outdoors playing in water and riding the atv. Went to Meijer to look at the fish and she helped me feed Knucklehead. He is very patient with her and has given me those "puppy dog eyes" a few times almost as if to say "help, please".Name: 0627191054.jpg

You should have her help you get all your gear ready for a Sunday fishing trip.

Fishing may be on the agenda for Sunday. My son will be here this afternoon and Isla is going to my ex's for a few days so we might grab Jeff (if he can make it) and hit Morrison at the crack of Dawn.

On Friday Judy said she wanted to spend Sunday somewhere on water in the boat. I wasn’t sure where to go but when Possum said he’d go I decided to go up to Muskegon and cruise the Lake Michigan shoreline and also testing out the new kicker.
We were on the water by 9:00 and made our way out to near glass calm Lake Michigan. We turned on the kicker and put out some boards to get the feel of it all.....it worked perfectly other than a brain fart by me trying to launch a bait from a LC reel.....BIG RATS NEST resulted.
At noon we motored over to the Bear Lake Tavern for lunch, all three items we ordered were incredible. I had the grouper, Judy a BLT and Chris a perch/steak combo.

Back out on the Big water and it had picked up some chop by then, made a trip along the shoreline going north this time. Decided to head it back to the launch and watch the $h^+ show there.....WOW......first time Judy watched it .....I know you’ve all watched launch lunacy before so I won’t go into detail.
Off the water and headed home when we pass Aaron along the way.....I knew it was Erin by this guy hanging out the window with phone in hand taking my picture

Had a good day, I’m ready to go do the real thing now with kicker and boards....I’ve had a lot of help and practice along the way with a couple guys here on the forum. You know who you are.....

It was as slow night fishing. Ended up 1/1. Radio chatter said it was SLOW all the way around. When I said we caught one some people Cheered, that was funny, but it was that slow.

When Jen (My Wife) caught the one fish, We made a quick video, and we sent it to Steve.
She was mocking, NOT Steve's videos, well, sort of, but Salmon fishing in general.

I tell her things that sound like a foreign language, Phone rings,

Jen: You on your way home & Catch anything?
Me: yup, went 1/1, with a Dirty White boy, on a slider set @ Zero, 50 foot down. Nothing on the Big Weenie meat rigs, or the new Dawn's Knappy Monkey Fly. Did have a rigger pop, but no one home. Mongolian Beef, & Flounder Pounder were useless, and Monkey Puke took the hit, but nothing.
Jen: Um, yeah, Get Milk on your way home.

Now whats funny, is that Steve understood most of what I said above.

Steve send me a text, and says "I should post that on my FB Page" and i said "Do you like the sight of your own blood?"

Had the same thing on the Morrison launch yesterday. When it was time to leave we had a bass boat guy pull just off the launch. still half blocking the one ramp and take his time tying down while there were two waiting to take out. Then we got the husband/wife combo that she holds the boat while he parks the trailer, blocking the only ramp. Next up was the 2 guys in a 14 footer that sat parallel to shore, 30 feet out from the dock, blocking the only ramp while my son was backing the trailer into the water. I had to ask them to kindly move 3 times before they did, giving me stink eye the whole time. We blocked the ramp for maybe a minute and pulled well out of the way to tie down. By that time I'd lost that peaceful, easy feeling I get while fishing. No more trips on busy holiday weekends for me. I can't handle the stress.

Sparty, you need a little out of the way lake that not allot of people know about.

I have such a location. It might be a bit of a drive and you have to travel, and its down a dirt road, and a bonus 2 track to get there.

Has some good sized Gills, Bass, some Monster Pike, and Dogfish. Best is, not allot of people EVER.

When I go, I don't even fire up my big motor, I use my trolling motor on the whole lake.

Ill get to see the Launch, Retrieve show some time this weekend. I want to test my new Riggers if they show up.
    There are some other options.

Steve @ Muskegon, there is "Fisherman's Landing" its $10 a day or like $57 a year pass. They have 4 Docks for a total of 8 slots and allot or parking.
But when I figured out it was a wash in time, between Fisherman's Landing, and Snug Harbor, Snug just has more stuff I like, over Fisherman's Landing.
Because you ave to pay, it reduced some of the idiots that are there.

I drove to Monroe Friday night, paid to stay in a hotel, got up at 4am to launch out of Sterling. That is how much I hate boat launches and people.

I despise the "it's all about me" movement. Problem is that more and more people have the "if you can't beat em, join em" attitude.
