I wouldn't believe you were up at 1:55 am. I would however believe that you never went to bed!

Our trip was not without issues.

Upon arrival, found a toggle switch had came loose, and slid under the dash. Fixed that right there.

Later on the water, found a seat screw loose, and will fix that this week. (At least it wasn't a rivet........)

On the way down, or back, the cover tore in two locations from stress. That's getting fixed this week. Maybe add some extra snaps to keep it in place.
BTW, anyone have a preference or experience a Snap tool, maybe heavy Duty from Dirtz, or the Channel lock pliers version?

BUT, when backing the truck up after fishing, to go load the boat, CLUNK, CLICK, CLACK, WTF? Jerry drove it last to park it........ So I'm blaming Jerry.
We got the boat loaded, and was able to get on the highway, dropped Jerry off, and continued home. By that time I got home, I was to afraid to use reverse, so we unhooked the boat in the road, and pushed it into the garage. Drove the truck around the block, with no left turns, and lulled it into the drive way.

Started looking at it yesterday, and the drivers side, (Where I thought it was at) looked fine, went and looked at the passengers side, and it looked fine, removed the brake pad, brake assembly, and grabbed the bearing and it MOVED, just not in a rotational motion, and Clink, Clink. Look on the back side and there are a few chewed up beads. Well that weird I thought to myself........

The bearings were falling out, and it was the bearing. Now these are sealed bearings, and it came out in TWO Parts, not one, it was that destroyed.

Not really sure how we made it back, other than some good ole fashioned LUCK.

Jerry, what is it with you and bearings?????????

The good news, the wife said (Maybe you need to get a different truck)

Here is the bearing after its two piece removal, and all the inner bearings on the ground, that fell out.

Now to get the boat items fixed, and be ready for another trip.

    I just read this.........

Fair Skinned, How about us that Glow in the Dark?

I'm going to test this out on the DR, I have used latex gloves getting Salmon bait ready, but had never thought about it while adding a minnow to my Walleye Jig.

    L-SERINE
Lots of anglers know that L-serine has been proven to repel fish, but what a lot of anglers don’t know is that the amount of L-serine in a person’s skin varies from person to person. Generally speaking, the darker complected a person is, the less L-serine that is typically found in the skin. So if you’re a fair skinned angler, chances are your hands are your worst enemy in a fishing boat!
You can control L-serine levels in the skin by washing your hands frequently, but a lot of anglers simply opt to wear rubber gloves while fishing. The same latex style gloves that mechanics wear to keep their hands free of grease and solvents work perfect for fishing applications.

That's interesting information Aaron. Pretty cool.

After a 2 year hiatus from river fishing, I'm headed down tomorrow with my dad and Abby. I talked myself out of it three times today and I'm not sure why. In the end, my excuses were not justified.

So in other words, your going to have a good time. You might have burn out, from tournament fishing.

What better day with the Kid, and Dad, and you in the middle.

You get to see the older, you learned from, and the younger learning. So it will be a good day.

If we go, you don.t learn anything, get called names, laughed at, made fun of, and in all picked on.

Then if Jerry is with you, you need to pray to the BEARING GODS, that Jerry JuJu, does not take hold and destroy your bearings........

    Have a fun day.

It was a great day. I met some good people, helped a guy at the launch, gave out plenty of H2OHammer plastics, and found out I still got it.

Despite the fact that we were not going to keep fish, we ended up keeping 10 for some family friends. When jigging, I never keep Abby's limit. She does jig and put in the work but also needs plenty of warm up breaks, time to pick on papa, and needs to reel in all of our fish.

We were testing some stuff today so we opt not to use stinger hooks. If we had, we probably would have boated around 40 fish in 4 hours. I lost so many on the first two drifts that I lost count! We let several go for another day as well.

Very few people made for a nice day. We fished the East side of Grosse Isle and donated two jigs all day. Home with everything put away and fish cleaned by 3:30.
