We watched the game last night and man, what a game it was. My SIL is usually cool and calm but he was hopping around and yelling his fool head off. He even dropped the grand daddy of all swear words on one bad call which resulted in my daughter warning him about his language and him turning beet red. I was glad that we were all together to watch it. Not often that the whole family is together for 3 days straight. I'll try to get a picture to post.

I'll be honest, I didn't even know a game was on let alone who was playing. Life does that when you haven't had TV in almost a year. Glad they have made it this far though. Good for them.

I got the keel of the boat fixed, the bad rivet drilled out and replaced with a stainless stove bolt and some high dollar sealant and the weight distribution problem, too much weight on the center skid, fixed. Dropped her in at Sessions Lake today planning on trolling for crappie. Never got her off the dock, the rivet on the other side of the keel is leaking. No big deal, it's an easy fix, but I WANTED TO GO FISHING!!!!

Not crappie fishing, but had the itch to drop a line in the water.
Headed to the belle river and soaked a few worms. My brother found the hot hole and was the envy of all the fishermen near us. Every last one of them eyeballed him and his line as he pulled redhorse sucker after redhorse in. Only kept a couple for smoking. If we like taste, might get a few more.

Thanks for helping me scratch the itch. I have to say, fishing the Detroit River on the week end, during the spawn, when there is a major tournament going is an adventure in itself. I guess getting to the launch shortly after 5am helped us beat the rush. I swear, if someone could put a trolling motor on a wash tub, they would have it out on the river. I don't know how many small, over loaded boats we saw out there. And the fools that wanted to play chicken with the freighters, there's no way of winning that one.

We had to work hard for them, but we managed to get a 3 man limit of ><17" males. Didn't see a lot of fish being caught so we feel good about what we did.

Despite the MWT launching out of Lake Erie Metro Park, it was not as bad as you read online most times.
Most of those negative posts involve people with no common sense, or an insecurity issue about size.

Logistically, a bit of planning, and a weekend trip is really not that bad.

We even deviated from my initial plan for launch sites, switching from LEMP, to EP, and it still worked out.

Yes there are allot of boat, but its a big river, & allot of it is Monkey See Monkey do, I showed Jerry one boat that was very craftily hiding its net, while it was netting fish.
Why? Because if people see that net fly, they move right in........

Our last location, there were maybe 4 boats that were making the same drift, and maybe 5 other scattered around.

In all, it was not a bad trip, except the truck having some issues, and I did make it home. The good news, I told the wife, and she said, You need to get a different truck!

You want to see Jerry get his chin whiskers all bristled, up, ask him about the three guys in the white Crestliner..........

You want to see him get animated, and tell a story, ask him about the wake form the last freighter that came through, and the tiny boat that got hit by it..........
    Entertainment at its greatest.

I plea the 5th on the Crestliner, other than to say that the words "swamp that #@%$#" may have came out of my mouth.

I don't know how big that wake was but when we dropped off the first wave, it was like the Demon Drop and all we could see was a wall of water in front of us. Erins boat handled it better head on that it did the one we took broad side. That one was cold and wet.

No idea how that little boat didn't get swamped. I'll bet they were puckered tight.
