Default Wind Burn, Big Eye’s, and a couple embarrassing moments (for others)

So, last night Skillet & I made a trip to Muskegon, to jig for Salmon.

The high winds caused some wind burn, and when we were done for the night, the Ipilot made a sigh of relief when the “Spot Lock” was turned off.

We set up a few different locations, but found one we liked. It must have been a good spot cuz, others circled around us, and lined up in front, beside, and a pontoon behind us.

When we got to our final spot, where we stayed until dark. It wasn’t long and Kevin was looking at my Rod, and it went WHACK, bent over then nothing. Explained to Kevin what happen, and then shortly there after, I was looking Kevin’s way, and his did the same thing. So we had 2 hits, but no full hits for a catch.

Explained to Kevin that I felt the Jigs rolling off the backs of some of the fish, could see it on the graph, then he was feeling it too........

Later as we were jigging, young couples were making their way to the lighthouse. .

I went into Baseball Announcer Mode, loud enough for all to hear, including the young couple.

    It’s a ground ball,.............”

At which time, she BLUSHED, Kevin busted up laughing, I was looking away, laughing my butt off. And the young couple promptly departed.

Shortly after another couple arrived, ... Kevin thought we had found “Lovers Lane” a loud shout of HashTag Get...., made Kevin & I bout fall down laughing, and they departed also........

So we watch the boats trolling, and see 2 fish caught, and a couple of less desirables caught as well.

So we are taking, my stiff rod bends over, and the hook is set.

“Hey Kevin, you want this? Nah, you sure here take this, No you got it.......”

By that time it was headed South, so I cleared the area, and Went to the rear of the boat, for a reason.

See it decided it wanted to go to Wisconsin. And the rear was pointed West. At one point Kevin thought it was hooked in the back, as it was taking the fast track. As it was pulling drag, Kevin was thinking my drag was to lite, well unknown the Kev, that drag was set high. & it took a majority of the spool, and at one point was UNDER some trolling boats.

They asked Kevin where it was at and offered to turn, which the did. This was two guys in a boat and not a charter.

Later I’m looking to the West, and Kevin points South.... lol

Anyway, we get it near the boat, and Kevin’s eyes went as white ......

Aaron, What the heck!, it’s HUGE.

Well, we got it in the net after one skip a heartbeat moment, and into the livewell. It was long enough the have the be BENT to get is in.

We had a couple more hits, but nothing concrete.
We went 1/1 but that 1 made it worth it. Kevon got to see first hand some of the stories of Salmon jigging.

If ever Kevin is in a bad mood, keep a straight face, and ask him about Skinny girls ........... I guarantee he will bust up laughing.

That fish that took almost 130 yards of like with drag set @ 17lbs...........

I thought of Steve, and we measured it, it was 1.5 inches short of Master Angler.

Needless to say, Kevin got to see it first hand, and can’t wait to hook into one himself......

    Well here’s the photo.

That boat only catches fish when I’m not in it.

Yeah, he slips one in once in a while. We were fishing on Friday afternoon and Jeff hadn't said a word in an hour, he catches a 7" crappie and, out of the blue chirps "I caught one of your fish" as he flips it back into the lake. Pretty funny.

Jeff is right, they are a PROUD fish.

They are not called “KING” for nothing.
No respectable KING wants to pose with a “Chummer”

    Dumb Pollack jester maybe...... lol

Waiting for Skillet to chime in, but probably still has his eyes closed looking at it in his mind.........
