No fishing today. My sons girlfriend ran into some trouble with a contractor who she hired to drywall her bathroom. After almost 4 weeks he had just over half of the drywall hung and the part he taped and mudded was garbage. Went over this morning and tore down what he did, ran a wire for a new outlet, hung and taped all the drywall and was home before 4:00. Going back in the morning for second coat and to hook up the electric. Saturday we are plumbing in a new mixer valve for the shower and sand out if it's ready. Weather is crap anyway so I needed something to do. I'll fish next week.

One person's definition if contractor is another person's definition if handyman. And that isn't even fair to those guys.
I like to say "the guy owns a hammer, so that made him a builder".
I’m a Builder...........
But I’m a master Builder cuz I own 5 Hammers.......
3 Claw, 1 Two Pound, 1 Sledge, and a rubber mallet. Does that even count?
I can follow instructions though, some things though, I’m just not good at.......
Like Salmon Fishing with Steve........

Handyman: one who is not licenced by the state and can not receive more than 600.00 for a job/project
Builder/Contractor: one who is liscened by the state having completed courses and can legally write a binding contract.
Will have a license # issued to them by the state and registered in the county they obtain permits from. Also needs to have current contractor liability insurance.
Will also take refresher/continuing education classes
Every 3 years.
Bonus points if you didn’t “buy” your builders license for $160,00 payable and guaranteed to pass through your county courthouse ( they did that for a while, and advertised on radio stations).

Well then I guess that while in Louisiana I'm a handy man. I'm not licensed here and I'm making less than 600.00. Like 600.00 less than 600.00. That's 0 for those that can't do their gozindas. Problem is she paid the guy before he started the job, in full, so if I have to donate a couple of days labor, so be it. Maybe karma will be on my side next time I hit D'arbonne.
