Just Steve LIKED above post
That’s funny.....
My old rowboat has stickers all the way back to about 84. One right over the last one.

Just a few reminders.
Those stickers expire on March 31st.
If you renew by mail, but have not received your new sticker, your old one HAS expired after March 31st. Kevin and I saw a guy get disqualified from a tournament two years ago. Although he had renewed by mail, he had yet to receive his stickers. He was issued an infraction on the water which resulted in him being disqualified from the tournament. Normally not an issue but he had the top fish of the day (payday of nearly 2500) and was in the top five in weight for the weekend!
Stickers are to be placed not less than 3 inches following your ID numbers. THIS is a change from previous practices that said "Sticker to immediately follow ID numbers". I've seen tickets for this one as well.
Also, the key word is "FOLLOWING". I've seen people put them in front of the numbers. Tickets issued as well from imporper registration.

That's pretty nit picky for a ticket for being "Less" than three inches, and I have not heard of that, I was told, and read that it was required to be the "Width" of the letter "M" of your Registration letters upon issue, IF there were no Dash's.
So I did mine that way.
Let me see if I can find it.

Found it, I was told WRONG, but am still past 3 Inches I think.
Secretary State Office Form, 159.
Registration Decal: The three-year watercraft registration decals must be attached to the forward half of the vessel on the same level as the registration number. Place each decal 3 inches to the right of the last letter in the registration number, reading left to right, on both sides of the vessel.
I used the letter "M" from my Registration #, so I had better check in case I run into Mr. Nit Picky, but to date, not once when pulled over or approached have I ever been asked about them or their placement.
First thing I am always asked is for the Throw-able Life Preserver. The farthest I have have ever been grilled was a young Sheriff over in Holland, who went right down wanted to the Flare expiration dates, and whistle. He also wanted to see my graph, because I told him that the "No Wake Buoys" were not shown on my Humminbird. He thought I was lying, and I wasn't. At which point the older Sheriff said, there was no need to see my graph, have a good evening............
Afterwards, I marked every no wake on my graph, as a way point, and mapped them as Triangles. Later after buying the LakeMaster chip, they magically appeared. Then two years later I was about to hit the throttle, and see that the buoys were not anywhere near where they were before, and later found out, Sheriff was having a filed day writing tickets.
However other than that, "Young Guy", and it wasn't even a bad experience, all interactions with C/O, Sheriff, etc have all been positive.

Did you think I would steer you wrong????
And notice the "to the RIGHT" of the last letter. Now, the next time you are on the water, you are going to see tons of violations!!!!
Here is how I knew this one:
Was out Salmon fishing a number of years ago (when I actually still did it) when I was approached by a Conservation officer. He advised me that my decal was NOT three inches from the last letter but, he would give me a warning.
Being as I had the actually decal backing still in the boat, I produced it and read the back of it (the insructions). In it, it said "Immediatly following the last letter". He then advised me that the law had changed but it "appears" as though the secretary of state never thought to change the backing instructions. He thanked me for my findings. He contacted me a week later and told me that he advised the State of their error and that they would "suspend" notification of the new law. The following year, the backing instructions were changed. It still took three additional years before they enacted the ruling due to several people who had registered boats before the law took effect.
Why does it matter??? I have no clue. There is also minimum letter height requirements as well as contrasting color requirements. Like I said, now that you are aware, you are going to look at every boat on the water! Same as the Conservation officers do.

Um, Yeah, You said Becky was HOT...............
Its 3 Inches in height. Slightly shorter than Ready2Fish.............
I'd like to look at Ready2Fish's new boat, but he is to busy drying the wet spots on it, with the garage door closed..........
How about it Jim? Any pictures yet?
