Found it,
This was from 2015, I have since changed a bit, and go to Snug Harbor exclusively. Mostly because I don't want to pay to park, and I am usually headed over to channel, Sand Docks, or Lake Mi.
From 2015.
I made it a point to try all of them last year. I do not know all the names but I do have my favorites now. They are Fisherman's Landing & The State Park on the North side.
Personal State Park Pro's
Fish Cleaning/Bathrooms/Shade
Family Friendly
Personal State Park Con's
25-35 minutes longer to arrive than Fisherman's Landing.
Not lit up well at night.
Personal Mixed Extras
2 Docks, so 4 locations to launch and retrieve.
State Park on the North side for all the above mentioned reasons.
Additionally, there are "Shaded" areas, for a nap after fishing as well.
Access to Lake Michigan is quick, since you are right next to the channel.
Entry fee only $10.00 That is already on your vehicle plate if you got that stamp. Is not well lit at dark, in my opinion.
Fisherman's Landing Pro's
Fish Cleaning/Bathrooms. Easy access to and from the highway.
Well Lit at night
Fisherman Landing Con's
Not cost effective, its a $10.00 fee to launch, unless you buy the annual pass which is about $55.00.
No shade, no place to nap.
Not Family Friendly
Personal Mixed Extras
4 Docks, 8 total slots to launch, the one farthest east is usually weedy and not used, but can be if needed.
The launch by the Millwalkee Clipper is next to "Shoreline Service Bait"
They have a slelcetion of lures, bait, etc. Usually pretty good with knowledge of previous few days. If you need guidance, stop in and ask.
basic launch, not much, no fish cleaning, no shade, Only thing going for it is the Bait Shop.
So which do I use most? Depends on what I am doing.
If its a "Hey I got a chance to go fishing", its FL, as it cuts down on drive time, and saves me upwards of an hour drive time both ways from the State Park from the highway split point.
If its a planned trip, with Family, I go to the State Park, pack coolers, chairs, park for a shaded afternoon etc.
