Snow here today. More now tomorrow. Up in the 40's this week. That is the roller coaster we call Michigan weather.

I have to sand out a small drywall job this morning then plan on pulling the hubs on the boat trailer to check bearings, heading for Louisiana with vbottom in 12 days.

G, what do you know about Eagle Lake north of Vicksburg? I see it's shared by Mississippi and Louisiana and assume our Louisiana license is good there and have seen pictures of fish caught there. Would it be worth 1 1/2 hours of driving to fish it for a day?

Eagle can be good for crappie at times....its full of gar and asian carp so it can be a mess sometimes too. I believe I would stay in LA and fish Darbonne. I will be headed to LA in April.....going to the LA camp at Toledo Bend.

Changing wheel bearings is on my list as well.

Here’s a question for anyone who cares to answer:
Currently on my boat trailer it has plain rims with tires about 80% tread, my previous trailer that my son now owns has fancy mag style rims and brand new tires. My son would rather have my plain rims.....he hates chrome shiny stuff. I like chrome shiny stuff that’s why I put nice rims on the trailer he now owns.

I’d love to make the swap however the tire size on my current boat rims ( plain ones) are one size larger (215)than the shiny ones (205) and this gives me pause to not make the switch......thoughts, opinions?

    Thanks for the input.

Plan on hitting D'arbonne hard, my son lives just south of there in Calhoun. Also plan on fishing Caney and Poverty Point while we're there. Also have my eye on some smaller lakes that we'll fish if D'arbonne is too beat up from the crappie masters.

My favorite oxbow lake in MS is lake washington.....but you would have to have a MS license to fish it I think. How much difference is the height of those tires ?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think an AR or MS license works on Lake Washington.

I wouldn't think it would be a problem as long as you have clearance inside the fenders. The bigger tires might throw off the speedometer on the boat, though.
