Spend the money on the upgrades, and you will be in hot water. I know the feeling.

Replaced my 22 year old hot water heater about 4 months ago. I bet I don’t get that kind of life, out of the new one!

Steve, look into tankless. I installed one in my house about 10 years ago and am totally satisfied with it. Wouldn't go back to a tanked heater.

If I didn't have Geothermal, I would have a tankless.

Installed one for my neighbors about three years ago. Did a whole home unit for a three bathroom house.

Of course, their electric panel wasn't big enough so I had to put in another box (one of my spares) and then run (2) electric runs from the garage (where the panel is located) into the basement of the house and in to the mechanical room. The unit I installed was electric (obviously) and ran on two different 30amp circuits. They were looking to get off from propane and electric at the time was 7 cents per KWH.

If I was trying to keep it off the grid or had a slew of other stuff on propane, I would run propane, however, with my house, my generator system, and everything I have running, I would choose electric.

Thanks for the advice and offer to help....I do appreciate it!

The repair guy is here with a new heater unit (tank)
There goes the traxtech system or half a kicker motor I'd been hoping to save up for this year.
    Neccesities over luxuries wins out.

It's not like I really had to have either anyway.......

Don't feel bad, I need to have my water softener serviced again.

Wish my water down here is like it was up north. Junk is all I can say.

There goes the money I was saving for the Trolling Master Pro Troll 2 micro speed adjustment unit I was looking at for the kicker motor.

I was texting Steve, that if he needed anything, that i have in the way of tools, (He probably has WAY more then me anyway), they are his to use, & not to feel to down.

To make sure Steve didn't think he was alone, I was telling him, We (Wife & I) were notified we owe a bit over $1,400.00 in medical bills, some dating back to Dec 2016, due to a "Billing Error" I was thinking HOLY POOP. Good thing was, it was their error, and although we do still owe it, for that sum, they are willing to work with us on payments. That is causing a hit in the family budget. I didn't even go to the hunting expo at the Delta Plex over the weekend. Just stayed home.

There went allot of things we were planning, replace and expand the deck at the back of the house, maybe an extra weekend at the DR for Walleye, etc.
It sucks but its life, I am living it.

Steve, one word of caution, just check your freezers when you are done. Replacing our water heater is/was how the freezer came unplugged at my place, and wasn't noticed until 2 week later......
Lost all the Venison, Salmon, and other wild game.
