Another busy day. Got up and made a big breakfast; bacon, tators, eggs and coffee. Next we made some tomato juice from some tomatoes I brought down. Cooked down some apples from my tree and made applesauce for Isla. Smoked a brisket for dinner and are making an apple pie for dessert. Tomorrow I'm smoking a couple of pork butts for them to eat on and put some in the freezer and making pastys for dinner from left over venison stew.

It’s his grandpa on Lacey’s side of the family. That is an impressive bluegill!
Galen passed away a couple years ago, I wished I would have taken him up on his offer to fish with him, it was common for him to get 10” gills

That's a huge gill. Some of those old boys forgot more about fishing than most of us will ever know.

I'M BAAAAAAACK! Took off for home about 1:30 am and got home at 1:30 pm. Easy drive with just a couple of slow downs. No blown tires. Just under 1600 miles round trip. Well worth it seeing how I got to spend 4 full days with Isla Jean and 3 with my daughter and SIL.

The pastys were fantastic and the smoked pork butt was even better. We were going to smoke a brisket but my SIL bought two corned beef briskets by mistake. I smoked them for 3 hours @ 175-200 then double wrapped them in foil and finished them in the oven, 2 1/2 hours @ 300. That is by far the best corned beef I've ever eaten. Back to work tomorrow.

They do not draw it down. Both Hodenpyle and tippy dam are hydro dams producing lots of power. Up until the mid 80s, they would raise and lower the water twice a day. Due to erosion, the State Mandated that they return the river to "Minimum flow". This ment they always produced the same energy while keeping the river at its historical normal flow rate.

Obviously, heavy rain could effect that but, to answer the question, she stays the same for the most part.

    Small boats are just fine.
