    Jimmy,

I'm curious as to what they are going to come out with. Based on what they are doing, I suspect they are going to be some very "high dollar" models.

With their writup, they give a ton of props to Forrest Wood. That leads me to believe that many of the people working with or building this company HAD a direct connection to Ranger.

When REC boat holdings sold Ranger/Triton/Stratus to Jonny Morris, many of the top level executives left, retired, or simply quit working for the company. Based on this new company, that would lead me to beleive that these people went in a "new" direction.

They are building all new facilities with state of the art equipment with an eye on Attention to detail (all taken from their website). What does this equate to? MORE money in cost to the consumer.

Creating a new boat hull design (mold) is NOT cheap. Also, knowing what I know about owning first generation models (went down that road with snowmachines twice) they are prone to extensive recalls and problems not forseen. Without a track record and simply going off their word of many years in the industry, it will be interesting to see how they come out of the gate.

Unfortunatley, part of their marketing campaign is that of today's generation. Unveil that something new is coming, post a countdown of when it will come out, and then make people wait for it. Although it generates a lot of talk and "buzz", what they should have done is create ONE boat to be shown at boat shows. They lose potential buyers looking for new boats simply because no one wants to wait and see. Heck, I wouldn't want to wait for 98 days (I think that is how many are left now). Not because I am not interested in what they are putting out, but more of the pessimist in that... what if they create a turd!

    Call them Vexus Boats

    Started by Forrest's oldest grandson...

Watch the video and you will see tons of people that had a huge hand in the Ranger line

And, if you read between the lines on this one....
Jonny has a history of buying boat companies and turning them around (the wrong way). Could people be concerned that he purchased this company and it is going to turn in to another "Mako". Maybe that is the reason that so many high level people decided to leave. It was never made public as to why. Maybe we have to read between the lines to see.

Read between the lines? I can provide past experience, but a different item........ Archery Bows.

JPM bought Oneida Eagle Bows from Claude Pollington (Marion Michigan) about 2 years ago.

Moved all production to St Louis, and ceased all support that from something like 2007 or older. No parts, no production of older parts etc. Basically forcing people to buy a new bow, if a mechanical failure were to occur.

JPM2, Basically turned it into a Bow Fishing Bow, and ceased the hunting model. I had to Search for parts, for my Limited Edition Extreme Eagle.

Pretty much has ceased the hunting aspect of the brand, and focused only on the Bow Fishing Brand.

Have yet to see the new product, in my hands after 2 years of FB & Web talk.

Was NOT Impressed with the changes, and methods.

So if that apple doesn't fall to far from the tree, I would expect the same, that has occurred to Oneida Eagle Bows, to occur with any Boats as well.

I already will shy away form those brands, knowing that, their point of origin comes from his direction.

I figured you had issues with OE after the sale.

John, look up Vexus when you get the chance.

My hope is that they make high quality at a lower price. Currently, it looks like Jonny baught ranger, stratus, triton and upped the price significantly while leaving the nitro price alone.

Wasn't really with and issue with OE, just the choices of some one who has boat loads of $$$, and seems to be not much common sense. But hay what do I know, My Daddy, does not own BPS.

Still love my Bow, and kids are going to bury me with the one I like the most, it even has a name, "Tear Drop"

I've read on other forms that some die hard Ranger boat owners have moved on to different brands because they don't like Ranger and Tracker are under the same roof(owner) so im sure Vexus will have a lot of ex ranger owners coming there way

For me i would never buy a new line of boat , ill let the guys with all money work out the issues, to many other boats to chose from, don't need the headache

But i guess this might be good for us , competition means lower prices or options

the ride is drier (full windshield) than mine, and smoother (I have the smaller individual windshields)
I plan on putting mine up for sale in the spring after fixing a few minor things, couple gel coat chips and new rivets in some hatch hinges, looking for 15k for mine, carpet is worn and it has been fished out of a lot, not as much the last couple of years.
really want bigger to haul grands and wife and kids.
more room, newer bigger motor etc , etc, etc,.
and NO WAY am I buying new!!!
looking at used boats in the 2002-2008 range
but need to sell mine first.
but my vote goes to the 620 ranger , perfect all around boat with the best ride.
am sure that size boat in warrior or stratos or nitro or whatever would be similar ride.
if I hit the lotto I will buy new
    John,

With boat prices I couldn't agree more for thinking that way about buying new, there was a time I said people are crazy spending that kind of money and a year ago I ended up buying a new boat now I'm looking to do the same, I guess all I can say is easy to get sucked into the new boat thing

For me this is about all I do and if I didn't I would spend it doing other things

My 1st Chevy Truck I paid around 9,000 new and I tell my self I would never buy new again ,we'll let's just see how that thought goes, lol

I understand Jim , have said I would never buy another new truck also, not paying over $40k for a new truck.......but you just never know
do know I will not be buying a NEW ranger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
trying to plan for retirement years is frustrating, just does not seem like there is enough $ to ever be comfortable.
and I agree, if all I did was fish........maybe new
when you get that new boat , I need to go fishing with you to check it out!!!!
now if I could only convince the wife!
    fillet em n fry em
