Wednesday afternoon-Tupper Lake
I got finished with my work day a little early on Wednesday and figured I would take advantage of the perfect weather so I hooked up the boat, picked up my neighbor and headed to Tupper Lake in Lake Odessa. I know an older gentleman who lives on the lake and allows me to use his launch. The first gill went in the box shortly after we left the dock, then nothing but dinksville. For every 20 dinks, we would get a decent fish and an hour in we had maybe 10 that we had kept. The shallows were choked with weeds and we were catching our fish just off the weed line on red worms and wax worms. We found an area that had a lot on this years beds that had been been pretty well picked clean but did manage to pick up a few real nice fish off from them. Our last stop was where a shallow flat dropped into deeper water with a thick weed bed growing right on the drop. The bass were chasing bait fish in and around the weeds and that seemed to trigger a feeding frenzy. The activity got the gills and specks turned on and for a while it was fast and furious. We ended our day about 5 pm with 22 gills, 1 crappie and 1 rock bass. About half of the gills were in the 7" range with the rest bigger, up to 8 3/4". All in all, a good day on the water and way better than working.

Having a decent launch on that lake would be nice......thats great you have a friend that allows you to use his. Last time I was there (2005?) we had a heck of a time getting on/off the lake, however I did catch a nice sauger which was a huge surprise.
Glad you got out and enjoyed the day!

about 5 years ago I had a jon boat with a jet drive and went up the channel from Jordan lake into tupper (had to get out and push through one shallow spot)
found some real nice crappie in a small bay right next to the channel were it dumps into tupper, it was early spring , but had several in the 12-14 inch range.
there were some huge bass in there as well, definitely 5 plus pounds!
the water is very shallow going into the little bay, but if you can get in there it gets deeper fairly quick, may 4-5 ft deep. probably full of weeds this time of year.
used to fish it a lot in my younger days
fillet em n fry em
