Hi Red, I made a call to the campground. The number for Munising & Christmas are both the same. After many rings I got a recording asking about making a reservation or leaving a message. Here's the number in case you don't have it 906-202-0596 Hope this might help.

Thanks guys. I spoke to the owner a couple of days ago but still don't have a warm and fuzzy. When I spoke to him in Mid may he told me that he had people with reservations beginning in June ( and they would be ready) but admitted a couple of days ago that it is not complete and no one has stayed. What worries me even more is that the chamber of commerce in Munising didn't give me much confidence that it would be done. Went as far as to say I should look other places. Trouble is for that week I am sure every campground is booked for the 4th of July week. This would totally screw the planned family vacation we had planned since January.

I'm not finding anything to give you Red. If you actually paid for reservations that's one thing. If you were just given a verbal that they would be open, that different. Might be best to look for alternative. That sucks.

All of my buddys are south so of little help. An idea might be to contact the casino in Christmas. They do a pretty good job of letting people know stuff and would be the best bet for a boots on the ground, honest assessment of what is going on.

Try the Michigan DNR Live Camp site reservation page. I just did a quick check, and for that amount of time that you listed above, I saw one opening in the Brimley State Park.
You could look to separate, or book at different locations, etc. It might be worth a shot to check it out. Its as close as I could find, during a quick search

The page is real time, and people are booking and cancelling ALL THE TIME. So I would check it regularly.
Example, Muskegon was FULL, and had been full, i checked yesterday, and some one had cancelled, and I jumped on it, and got a 3 Day Mini Vaca.
Side note, I may have to cancel now, but if it work's out, its great.
