Townline lake in Montcalm county is a 247 acre lake it has a campground. I never been to lake so not sure how the fishing is. But it's one to throw in the pot.
How is the crappie fishing along the au Sable? The rivers might not be great for it but the dams make for some large bodies of water.

get in, sit down, shut up and fish
I have a "shack" on Townline. Seems like a nice campground, Methodist affiliated so not sure about alcohol consumption. From the few times I passed through the campground it seemed well kept and family oriented. The lake gets pretty busy on the weekends with pleasure boaters. Fishing can be good at times and has some big crappie in it if you can find them. I've never tried real hard because of the boat traffic. Also has trophy sized channel cats. Managed as a trophy pike lake for the last few years and there a LOT of small pike. Popular for local bass tournaments.
Can't remember how many times as we've driven M-57 that I've wondered about Lincoln Lake as a place to fish. Never have gone there, but it does look like a good prospect! Campground looks nice too. Can't seem to locate their rules/regs. though.
Life has many choices, eternity has two...choose wisely.
Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
Just did a "google earth" on Lincoln Lake, man there sure is a lot of boats and docks......is that for the campground?
My great uncle Scotty had a place on Townline Lake, I remember as a kid in the late 60's going up there to his cottage and fish.....mosquitoes were terrible back then.
Kevin: What about any lakes over in the Baldwin area? I know you are familar with the Crappie fishing over that way.
Anybody know of anything in the Mt. Pleasant area?
Steelguy: John, you know of anything over in the Houghton Lake area? I know you fished a lake over that way when we were up there a few years back. I fished Cranberry lake once but not sure of a campground.
Slabsrus: Frank, Any recommendations in the Houghton Lake area?
Larry and Sandy: Any recommendations for lakes up by you guys?
I know we did it once before (and tried to do it last fall) but what about Lake Cadillac/Mitchell again??????

I have OCD "Obsessive Crappie Disorder"
Grand Parents had a cottage on Horse Head lake , been 50 Years since I have fished it, but hit it hard as a kid, main fish caught were Blue Gill , Large Mouth , an Pike. There was NO public launch . When Uncles an Dad wanted Crappie an bigger Gills ,went to Chippiwa Lake about 6 Mile away. Has a launch, but still see no camp grounds at both lakes.
I thought fish trembled when they heard my name.......then I heard the laughter
Cadillac and Mitchell are good crappie lakes and nice state park.
I think we were to early the last time we were there, I think it snowed.............
not sure, poor memory
