Came down to Monroe, La to spend Thanksgiving with my only son, his girlfriend and her family. Got to fish D'arbonne Lake on Tuesday and managed to put 20 decent fish in the box. Beautiful day on the water and got to share a boat with a buddy I only see a couple times a year. D'arbonne is a 15,000 acre impoundment known for it's crappie fishing and over the last year has experienced major water level fluctuation. Last spring, during the record setting rains , 26+ inches in 3 days, the lake rose nearly 9 feet and this past summer they lowered the lake 6 feet or so to work on the spillway. The water level is still low and makes for an adventure when trying to launch a boat. Going to try to get out a couple more times before I have to come back to the cold and snow. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
