    Default Black Friday white crappie

Got back to Lake D'arbonne on biack Friday and again on Saturday. We were fishing a double rig with a #2 red hook and a shiner minnow above and a 1/16oz jig with plastic below. I rigged mine with a 1/4 oz worm weight between the baits to hold me vertical. We ended with about 60 crappie in the 10=12" range with the big hog weighing 1lb 13oz and 15 1/2". Back home soon, hopefully the Saginaw stays open for a while longer. I would love to hit it once before freezeName: IMG_20161125_155955381_HDR.jpg

It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

Saginaw will be open for a little while longer. The only issue is the extreme amount of bait in the river right now and the tiny age class of the fish in the system. On the flip side, they are out in the bay of both Huron and Erie. I took a couple of guys out the other day on Erie and managed to put 28.5 lbs of fish (6 fish) in the boat in a little over 4.5 hours.

Love the look of the white crappies. Few and far between here in Michigan that is for sure.

Come on back anytime. I myself am moving my fishing addiction to Tennessee. After 61 years, minus 4 for uncle sam, I am leaving Louisiana. Pickwick will be my new home lake. I'm getting closer to you guys. Danny

Wondered what happened to you, Steve. Having family in Louisiana makes it easy to take a road trip. Got to fish a little, help my son find a new house, visit with friends and meet my sons new girlfriend and her family. I even went surveying with him. Right now he's working on a 1500 acre tract for Karl Malone. I had less than 400.00 into the trip. I'll be heading to Atlanta sometime in January to see my daughters new house, and probably work on it, but won't be taking the boat.
