My story (and oh how I wish I had photos).
Following the festivities, a few of us decided to sit in the shade down by the Aspen cabin and "Admire" the chaos that was about to take place at the boat ramp. We had a good time watching the weekend warriors attempt to back up trucks and trailers, load boats, dock boats, beach boats, and everything else you wanted to call it.
We are not sure if her name was "Nickie, or Dixie" but it really doesn't matter. Special thanks to her for the show. Really deserved a standing ovation from the crowd!!
At around 11pm, the wind really kicked up. Wind was blowing water over the docks. The boat that was beached and had a rear anchor, became "un beached" and started moving desperately close to another beached pontoon. Eventually, the owners of the pontoon came (must have been half in the bag) and decided to load their boat. The trailer they had... it was a snowmobile trailer. It took 20 minutes and near as many attempts. I laid 5 to 1 odds that it wouldn't fit but they got her to fit. I'm still not sure they made it home but at least they got it up the launch. As for the big boat, last we saw it, it was heading for the dam. Around 1am, we heard commotion. It appears as though the owns of said name vessel that was adrift came back to camp (in the boat). They found it around the corner, brought it back, and slept it off.
I don't wish ill will on anyone, but I was hoping for a different outcome.
