Sweet!
So in the middle of a 20 mile kayak training paddle earlier this week I decided to make a few casts into some of my favorite fishing holes. I normally don't take my fishing gear while training but this time I decided to go ahead and one of my rod and reels and a bit of tackle along just so that I could make a few casts while taking a break during the 20 miles of hard paddling. Well I was sure glad I took my fishing gear along. I ended up landing a few nice smallmouth bass, one walleye, a good bunch of crappies, a mess of nice gills, and a half dozen white bass. I really hadn't expected to fish at all, so that great mixed bag was a welcome addition to a great day of training in preparation for my Michigan Coast To Coast For Disabled Veterans fundraiser coming up on September 12.

Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
Very nice indeed. We call those white bass "barfish". Don't know why.
