    Default Long weekend

If I would listened to the weatherman I would never get anything done.

Friday I was roped in to taking my daughter and a friend fishing. Her dad is a Marine that got stationed in Okinawa Japan and I watch over the family while he is gone. She had never been fishing before. My daughter has gone with me since she was 2 so this was like starting all over again with someone else. FYI the old saying "you have to be quiet or you will scare the fish" doesn't work with two eight year old girls! The lake wasn't rough but the wind made it difficult to work the area that I wanted to work.

Sunday afternoon was calling my name to fish. It was calm and warm with zero wind. Of course, the boat launch was at max capacity for non campers (never heard that one before on a State Park) so I was forced to drive 30 minutes to another lake within the chain and launch. The water was way too warm. I could find the fish but they didn't want much to do with anything. We ended up catching 4 crappies. No pictures as the bugs were so bad I just wanted to get out of there. I had bug spray but didn't feel like putting it on.
