Guessing you are running a stainless prop? Otherwise not sure how an aluminum survived a 20mph hit with a stump unscathed.

No I need a stainless steel prop. The prop wasn't damaged it hit the lower unit. It's running better than ever. I don't know how it was running with the nut that held the float bowl completely off. I found it laying in the cowling. I was lucky it happened as it did and not when I was on a big lake.

Glad you found that as th problem. I would still water test it before taking out on big water though. Never hurts to be completely sure.

I did take it out yesterday. It runs like new. It has been raining hard all day. It's supposed to come a frost Saturday night. The prospect for fishing doesn't look good for the next few days.

Look at the boat from the back and spin the prop. I think you will find the blades or prop shaft bent.
Don't do like I did if you have insurance . figured it was user error so I paid for new shaft and shop to put it in . Found out later it was covered says farm Bureau .
