Just saw you said you only ran it for 5-10 seconds, those motors can take 30 or more to pump up dry lines and fill the block. No chance the empty lines filled in 5 seconds, especially if it was on muffs. Run it for 30 seconds to a minute or until the alarm goes off or it looks/feels like it is getting hot, give it time. Like i said the pee is just an overflow indicator, most of the water is expelled out the lower unit.

Well, out of respect to those of you who have been part of this, I took the lower unit off tonight, and the impeller was honestly just a hub, with each fin NOT connected and in about 4 pieces each. I ran a little air pressure through the motor, and it is clear. Took the "suction screens" off the lower unit, rubber pieces in there! So, yup.....it was time to change it. Going to try to take it to the lake tomorrow afternoon after work and just drop the butt end into the water while on the trailer to see it pee! Then, it is up for sale!!!

No substitute for laying hands and eyes on it. Great news, take care!

Hello: As Kevin 22 said just because the motor is not peeing doesn't mean the impellor is bad. On my outboards I have owned over the years I always mounted a pressure gauge to them and always kept track of the pressure that way. Check you tube videos to find out how to do it. Good Luck, O-R
