    Default Mercury choke.

    I purchased a 1986 Bass Tracker
With a 50hp mercury. Doesn't have chokes in the carburetors. How does it work?

They could be automatic chokes. Set with a solenoid when cranked, as they heat up they turn off

That is fascinating. Thank you very much. I thought I had a problem.
I was wondering how it cranked so quick.

Sounds like you have a 4 cyl Classic 50. The carb contains an integral fuel pump and a diaphragm operated primer system. The bigger motors use an enrichner. My memory isn't so good these days but I think it was the early 70's when they did away with the choke butterfly type.
