Known Issue with Older Yamaha V-6 4 Strokes
Here a picture is worth more than a thousand dollars. That is the Dip Stick with emulsified oil and water. The Crankcase is so full the mixture is leaking out of the Dip Stick tube. I'm in the process of removing the oil/water mixture before several oil & filter changes. After I will crank it up and let it run a bit to see how fast the water colors the oil. Could be Head Gaskets or a Exhaust eaten hole through the Oil Pan. More later.

Pulled this out with my Vacuum tool for oil changes. It took about 18 hours to remove this emulsion from the Crankcase due to the Viscosity. I'm assuming the engine was run for a bit before the operator became aware there was a problem.
This is several days old now and like Mayonnaise it has maintained a stabilized Emulsion. I won't received the oil and filters till Tuesday afternoon at the soonest. The engine had a buildup of organic matter restricting water flow. I personally pulled the Lower Unit and rigged a circulating tank I made to circulate Aluminum Safe Coil Cleaner to clean out what I could. I pull the Thermostats and exchange them with some gutted T-Stat Bodies so the cleaner will flow through. The block was too contaminated for my system to work. The owner brought it to a Yamaha shop who ran Muratic Acid through the engine. I now suspect the Acid attacked the Head Gaskets causing this problem. Glad I refuse to put Muratic Acid in it, I would feel terrible now if I did.

Well I pulling the old oil filter and cleaned everything out there. Decided to replace the plugs too and noticed a bit of oily water residue on the spark plug insulator. So I needed to pull the Intakes on both sides to see if any oil/water made it in them and again a picture is worth a Thousand dollars.
After adding the correct amount of oil and a new filter I rigged up to run the engine on the hose. These older engines can run on a Muff but it needs to be a single feed Muff. Also you use a Hose splitter to run a hose to the Muff and a hose to the Flushing port. Finally you Duct Tape the snot out of the Low Water Pickup screens sealing them up before running on a hose. It has a slight miss, I'm thinking Head Gasket since when running at Idle no water is mixing with the oil. On these engines Head Gaskets may not start leaking till close to full throttle.

Update, Put the brute back in the water so the owner can now limp the boat to a launch well away from low lines on the roads. This boat hits the 13.5FT height on the trailer so it must be motored close to the shop as possible before trailering on the road. Running the Port engine in the water the engine sounds exactly like the Stbd engine except for a slight squeak. The crankcase cleaned up with the oil changes. This boat may sit for a month before worked on at the yard so I at least stabilized the Crankcase to prevent rust while in line for service.
