    All tires that run highway speeds will benefit from balancing. They will wear more evenly and prevent excessive suspension wear from the "bouncing" motion imparted from the unbalanced shaking.

    I lost a couple of sets back years ago....it ended up being the wheel bearings were loose allowing them to move in and out and I guess right after I would pump them full with grease they would move and the hydraulic pressure would blow them off....So check your wheel bearings and make sure they don't have too much play. Tightened the wheel bearing nut and never had another issue.

    For the rubber boots on my riding mower wheels, I use long, skinny, black zip ties pulled tight and nipped close.
    If they are metal, you should be able to dimple the edges a little, and "Persuade" them on.
