They will certainly fill it up in a hurry. Filled my bilge pump outlet up once. That was a mess

I use the Dirtdobber Bgone 9000 for the added length just to make sure.

I use short pieces of weed eater cord, like the end of the roll or breaks off on fence, keep several in the back of the boat, stick in after trip, if/when i forget to take out pushes on its own no major loss. For under the cowling or shifter these work wonders

When I store the boat for long periods I cover mine with blue painters tape. Prolly not needed but I am A*** retentive about some things.

I've not had that issue before, and I think it is because I either store the boat in the garage 99% of the time, or when I store it outside due to a project in the garage, I cover the motor as well (I also put a boat cover on it outside).

Golf tee works well on newer 4 stroke Mercs with the larger diameter outlet.

Just a index finger tip of lithium grease, lightly pack the hole, nothing to worry about forgetting and building back pressure. It’ll blow right out when you fire her up
