Mercury 60 hp 2005 4 stroke voltage regulator not charging when running
A few days ago trolled for about an hour. Noticed volts dial on Bass Tracker showed battery as discharging. Stopped trolling. Turned off motor. It barely started. Came home. Muffed it to water and used meter on cranking battery. Read on low side. Revved up motor. No change or increase in volts. Load tested batteries and they are okay. No fuses blown. So i'm thinking trouble is voltage regulator, or alternator or rectifier or whatever it has.This is where I'm begging for help as I don't recognize what is what. and I can't locate a book.Thanks in advance.

Looks like it has a stator and a voltage regulator set up. If you're handy with an ohm meter you can test the stator. If it checks out, here's the regulator...

Almost forgot to mention to check the plugs/terminals on the regulator for fitment and corrosion.

You guys nailed it. Ordered the part mentioned by NCkenner. It arrived quickly and in order. Spent about an hour installing. Everything looked better with "rabbit ears". Went trolling today. Three walleye and some not as good to eat. Voltage regulator 13 plus and minus. hooked to charging system at home. Batteries all charged. I admire your mechanical knowledge and thank you very much.
