    Default Terrova questions

Guy/gals, new guy question. I’m getting a terrova for my boat. Got Helix finder and after talking to guys in fishing section, figured I might as well get one with ipilot link if I could find one. Rather than not get it and then want to try it.

Hears my issue. Apparently it’s m seeing the only way to get unit with full size remote and not the “ micro” is looking on internet. I found a Terrova 80# 45” with ipilot link but it’s a discontinued model # 1358896. I’m trying to find out why it was discontinued ,outdated if that’s a thing,or if had issues or what. Is it something I should stay clear of? I’ve looked for hours online and see nothing. I was wondering if anyone here has info on it or can steer me in right direction.

Seems new ones aren’t coming with heading sensor or full size remote for awhile. Only other one I’m seeing is one with MDI built into the head. I really don’t want that huge thing. I could just buy a kit and mount transducer on it correct? Just trying to get things together so I can mess with it during the winter. Any help appreciated or info on where to look., thanks, Steve.

The current model may only come with the MDI transducer.

I will say, on a Terrova, unless you really want side imaging up there, it's best to use the integrated transducer. They are hard on a transducer cable, mine popped one once.

I bought a bluetooth ipilot terrova with us2 transducer off of ebay for $1499.00 without the heading sensor & it also has the micro remote like you said & i don't have any complaints whatsoever. I"d do it again in a heartbeat. Cheap way to get a spot lock trolling motor for sure that also has an actual foot pedal. I'm sure liking mine.

you're missing out w/o the heading sensor; it will allow the 'jog' function which is indispensible, imho...

Found one with 80# wth header sensor /foot control/ big hand controller on eBay new for just under $1600. If they ever get to where they sell the “ Link Heads” I’d be around 2k. I have enough for that route and still enough “ stash” to get a 10” Helix for front., dang you go bigger screen and have to sell a kidney! Guy I work with has 12-15” screens and that’s really nice, but can’t justify that much $. We just like to relax and have fun. my wife says my hobbies are killing her. Still got more duck season to go. She may throw me out.

What boat are you putting it on? 45 in shaft was decent for my Tracker 175 but in heavy waves not so much. Might want to consider a bit longer shaft. If you can swing an Ultrex as stated above that’s the route I would go.

    Sorry, didn’t give boat info.

It’s a Crestliner Retriever SC 1860 with 60 hp 4strk. Had to try and do what everyone says you can’t do. One boat for everything. But so far I’m happy with it. No complaints. Might go bigger on motor but don’t feel it’s really a major issue. We can fish the lakes here and fill safe on Mississippi River playing around/fishing. Last kids in college so we can play more now. Just 2 Labs to contend with.

It has a “ tiller TM” on the bow now. Fine for minor use but no way I’m dealing with it all the time. Spend more time messing with it than fishing when trolling the banks. We fish for alittle of everything. Just having fun enjoying life.

I haven’t called BBG , but I will. Have PayPal and keep getting offers but haven’t every needed it but 6 Mo zero interest would keep me safe from wife . Lol Thanks for the info. That’s why I posted on here as I knew I’d get some good info.
