    Default Mounting a trolling motor

What's the best way to mount a Minn Kota Terrova. Boat has a pretty installed mounting bracket but because the motor has to be slid so far forward only the back pair of holes sit on the bracket where I can reach under it.

    Thanks

To reach the front ones I have taken a piece of wood and taped a 7/16 wrench to it. Used nuts with the built in washers as they would sit in / on the box end wrench. Reach up in there and prove around until you get the nut started. On an aluminium docked boat I would use 1/4" stainless steel riv- nuts in the front. They can be installed through a blind hole

If needed you can also make your own holes in the trolling motor base. I had to do the same with my ultrex. Drill a pilot hole and finish with 1/4.

Come to think of it Minkota has some type of blind hole mounting fastener. I will see if I can find it
