The yellow bracket in the pic is what I used to mount my seat bases to, the bracket itself is mounted between the ribs of the boat. I used the plus nut to be able to mount the seat base to the bracket. Bracket was repurposed from an equipment mount that was removed when the vehicle it was installed in was modified, got them out of the scrap aluminum bin. I used plenty of rivnuts while redoing the boat but wanted all the resistance to pulling out that I could get for the seat. The nice thing about that tool is that it also does rivnuts. For someone that doesn't already have a rivnut tool I think this is the way to go to cover both.
.
Sturdy looking mount

I finally found the right tool. My 14 yr old daughter was able to reach it..lol...
Boat handles pretty good running out. But in tight quarters at a ramp dock with $50k bass rigs close by it gets a little tense....left brain right brain type thing trying to steer in reverse.

I now own a plusnut tool. It's a Rockstar for sure.
