    Default trolling motor and batteries

    Minn Kota recommends to seperate ulterra from batteries when charging. I know there are those that have different views on this, it is a $2500 tm and a switch is not much. 24 volt system what is the best way to do this. All my wiring is hidden and a pug is not what i am looking for. If someone has done this what switch did you use. Any advise thanks.

    On my setup the circuit breaker is used as the switch between TM and battery. I attached it directly to the battery(found this idea somewhere on the site).

    I use several sources for the breakers , Amazon, Auto Parts Stores and Wally World. 50 and 60 amp cheaper when ya get to searching $15-$25. The mount is scrap copper pipe flattened, cut, and shaped with angle grinder til it looked like it belonged.

    I just push the red button and it disconnects, batteries keep charging and no stray current to TM. When I get on the lake close reset lever ;}

    Thank you sir. I am getting my Ulterra installed next week. I was unaware of the plug/unplug recommendation.

    The tech i talked to at mk was more concerned with the 36 volt systems 120 thrust but he did recommend seperating the mother board in any of the mk's. I pull the fuse but a 60amp fuse where mine is a pain to get out.
