Thread: 2001 johnson 115 waterpump kit

I purchased an aftermarket kit for my outboard that is supposed to be item 5001595. I have noticed on the impeller housing there is a small hole at the bottom that looks like some sort of vent. The impeller housing that was on the outboard does not have this vent hole. Is it okay to use this type of housing or should I use the housing without the event. The hole I'm referring to is just to the right of the screw hole
