Sometimes with winter draw downs you can't get it that deep without having half the truck in the water. That would be a cold wade to get into the truck when you are fishing alone
I would avoid winching if at all possible. Load it deeper.

Counting motor...gear...gas...live well...friction that sort of thing you are well over the rated weight of the strap...winch gear... or the bow eye for that matter stressing the only thing that is holding your boat on your trailer.
Learn your boat & trailer and back it in to the proper depth. At least at bare minimum winch it up while it is kinda floating.

I guess that could cause a problem if the ramp don't maintain its slope...around here it does.

First bought a two- speed winch from Walmart but thought an electric one would better fit these 'old' arms, thus began one of the most frustrating experiences ever instructions were very lacking (holes never lined up) called help was told to get an adapter plate again holes were wrong size and didn't align. Returned both units and got a can of silicone spray but have not used yet. Am cleared to go fishing this week so hope the spray works. --shu
